About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide administrative support for the BWH Living Donor center
  • Work closely with the Living Kidney Donor Transplant RN Coordinators and multidisciplinary team
  • Provide direct support for all administrative needs and care logistics related to living kidney donation
  • Supports chart initiation, preparation and maintenance, requests medical records/test results, scans patient records, and mails supplies
  • Schedules patient appointments and takes ownership of regulatory-mandated patient follow-up, including data collection and database management
  • Serves as a first point of contact for non-clinical questions/issues regarding the living kidney donor transplant program and patient appointments
  • Triages messages and communications to RN Coordinators as appropriate
  • Maintains patient education materials
  • Provides backup support for Practice Assistants and Administrative Assistant as needed/requested
  • Activities include answering main telephone line, booking appointments, scheduling surgeries, checking in patients for appointments, and general office support
  • Project Management to support program development and coordination for various projects
  • Data entry and management of the National Kidney Registry and coordination with the hospital/OR
  • Composes and distributes service line or program communications including newsletters, updates, articles, etc.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum of high school diploma or GED
  • Associates Degree or higher level education strongly preferred, but not required
  • Minimum of one year medical office or administrative support experience required
  • Training in office systems including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Experience with electronic medical records preferred
