About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the clinic and provide leadership to the clinical staff
- Support the implementation of departmental strategies, operational initiatives, and hospital-wide programs
- Ensure efficient clinic operations, high-quality patient care, regulatory compliance, and an exceptional patient experience
- Lead, hire, train, schedule, and support clinical and supervisory staff across clinic locations
- Evaluate staff performance and competencies while promoting ongoing professional development
- Support the implementation of new workflows, policies, and processes to meet operational and regulatory requirements
- Identify and implement workflow improvements that enhance efficiency, quality, and patient care
- Assist with developing, monitoring, and managing departmental operating and capital budgets
- Allocate and redeploy staff as needed to meet patient care demands and maintain efficient clinic operations
- Ensure resources are used effectively to provide an excellent patient experience
- Respond to patient questions, concerns, and feedback in a timely, professional, and compassionate manner
- Monitor quality, service, patient satisfaction, and operational performance metrics
- Participate in departmental and hospital-wide initiatives that support operational excellence and organizational goals
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in a related field required
- 5–7 years of management experience in an ophthalmology setting required
- Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) certification required
- Strong leadership, coaching, and team development skills
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building abilities
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, high-volume clinical environment
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to build effective working relationships with patients, clinical staff, physicians, researchers, and regulatory partners
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities while maintaining attention to detail.
