About the role
- Accurately deliver radiation treatment to patients according to the prescription provided by the Radiation Oncologist
- Accurately document radiation treatment delivery and all technical parameters
- Meet and greet new patients upon arrival to the department
- Explain the overall patient flow through the department, expected wait times, digital signage
- Perform daily output and alignment checks on linear accelerators
- Review electronic charts at the initiation of treatment, when treatment plans are changed, and throughout therapy for completeness and order
- Maintain equipment and orderliness of the treatment area
Requirements
- Current Massachusetts Radiologic Technologist-Radiation Therapy License required
- ARRT Certification with active registration and CE compliance required
- Must be a graduate of an ARRT recognized program in radiation therapy technology
- BS required if graduated after 2000
- Associate degrees accepted for candidates that completed their education prior to 2000
- Clinical internship in a major cancer center preferred
- Experience with modern linear accelerators, simulation and verify/record systems
