About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Evaluate and diagnose patients with mental health disorders, including anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, and schizophrenia
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, including medication management and psychotherapy
Conduct routine check-ups, monitor patient progress, and adjust treatment plans as needed
Collaborate with psychiatrists, therapists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care
Order and interpret diagnostic tests, such as lab work and imaging studies
Prescribe and manage medications, including psychotropic medications and controlled substances
Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including progress notes and treatment plans
Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient care and develop treatment plans

Requirements

What you’ll need

Active, unrestricted Pennsylvania and New Jersey NP licenses
Ability to bill Medicare
Current PMHNP-BC certification through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC)
Minimum 2 years of experience as a PMHNP in an inpatient or outpatient setting
Strong assessment and diagnostic skills for complex mental health needs
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with autonomy and independence
Strong knowledge of psychiatric-mental health nursing principles, psychopharmacology, and psychotherapy
Ability to maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
