About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Evaluate and diagnose patients with mental health disorders, including anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, and schizophrenia
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, including medication management and psychotherapy
- Conduct routine check-ups, monitor patient progress, and adjust treatment plans as needed
- Collaborate with psychiatrists, therapists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests, such as lab work and imaging studies
- Prescribe and manage medications, including psychotropic medications and controlled substances
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including progress notes and treatment plans
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient care and develop treatment plans
Requirements
What you’ll need- Active, unrestricted Pennsylvania and New Jersey NP licenses
- Ability to bill Medicare
- Current PMHNP-BC certification through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC)
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a PMHNP in an inpatient or outpatient setting
- Strong assessment and diagnostic skills for complex mental health needs
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with autonomy and independence
- Strong knowledge of psychiatric-mental health nursing principles, psychopharmacology, and psychotherapy
- Ability to maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
