About the role
- Responsible for the governance, development, and maintenance of enterprise reporting and analytics solutions
- Oversee the design and management of Power BI semantic models, datasets, and reporting structures
- Ensure reporting assets are accurate, reliable, and aligned with organizational standards
- Provide technical leadership in Power BI development practices
- Lead the migration of legacy reporting platforms to Power BI
- Implement robust semantic models and data sets to support self-service analytics and standardized reporting
- Establish and enforce Power BI governance standards
- Partner with data architecture and engineering teams to ensure optimized data pipelines
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define KPIs, reporting requirements, and data visualization strategies
- Mentor junior analysts and promote best practices
- Monitor and optimize Power BI performance
- Support change management and user adoption through training and documentation
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree required
- Microsoft Power BI certification (PL-300 or PL-600) preferred
- 8+ years of experience in business intelligence or analytics
- At least 2 years in a Senior Power BI development role
- Familiarity with provider organizations, ACOs, and/or health insurance operations
- Demonstrated experience migrating reports and dashboards to Power BI in a healthcare setting
- Deep expertise in DAX, Power Query (M), and dimensional data modeling
- Strong understanding of semantic layer design and enterprise data architecture
- Experience working with healthcare data such as claims, encounters, EHR, HEDIS, risk adjustment, or quality metrics
- Familiarity with value-based care models, population health analytics, or CMS reporting requirements
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to multitask and communicate well within IT and within the business
