Create and implement a paired {protocol: datapoint} SQL database for labware tracking at the well level
Design and develop optimization algorithms (ML, Bayesian, and mechanistic) for model-in-the-loop parameter prediction and system performance improvement
Build GUIs and APIs that empower both human and AI scientists to interact seamlessly with data and models
Develop and integrate software components with hardware and robotic systems, ensuring smooth and reliable operation
Work closely with cross-functional teams — including developers, hardware engineers, and researchers — to define requirements and deliver cohesive, integrated solutions
Maintain detailed technical documentation for database design, integration processes, and modeling results.
Requirements
Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) field or equivalent practical experience
5+ years of experience in data engineering, database design, or algorithm development
Strong programming skills in Python
Expertise in SQL and database architecture
Proven experience designing and deploying machine learning or optimization algorithms
Familiarity with hardware–software integration, scientific instrumentation, and data modeling
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to collaborate across disciplines
Bonus points for experience with Bayesian modeling or robotics
Familiarity with UX for technical users (GUIs, Jupyter notebooks)
Knowledge of CI/CD, cloud deployment, or scientific computing tools.
