About the role
- Provide effective treatment and clinical activities in the provision of physical therapy under the supervision and direction of the Licensed Physical Therapist.
- Deliver routine Inpatient, Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) and Outpatient physical therapy treatments.
- Ensure effective and optimum quality of patient care.
- Follow infection control procedures and proper body mechanics.
- Walk, stand, stoop, operate wheelchair accessories and position/transfer dependent patients as needed.
- Update clinical skills per hospital policy and participate in clinical activities.
Requirements
- Graduation from a Physical Therapist Assistant program and successful completion of clinical internship requirements.
- Current licensure or eligibility for licensure by the Board of Medical Examiners, State of California required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required.
- One year of professional experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant preferred.
- Basic knowledge and understanding of physical therapy procedures and techniques required for providing routine Inpatient, Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) and Outpatient physical therapy treatments.
- Knowledge of infection control procedures.
- Knowledge of proper body mechanics.
- Ability to follow directions accurately.
- Ability to establish effective relationships with patients and fellow employees.
- Ability to assume responsibility for updating skills as required by hospital policy.
- Ability to walk and stand for long periods, stoop and mechanically operate wheelchair accessories repetitively throughout the day and position/transfer dependent patients in and out of bed without assistance.
