About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Proactively manage client service, renewal activities, and product administration for assigned clients
  • Serve as a primary day-to-day contact for clients
  • Manage Benefits accounts and develop partnerships with clients’ HR managers and support staff
  • Manage service issues, research problems, and present and implement timely solutions
  • Assist with RFP bid specifications, obtain census and historical data, analyze quotes, advise on carriers/products, and negotiate with insurance representatives and underwriters
  • Prepare and proof client proposals and attend client meetings and presentations
  • Manage implementation of new coverage lines and carrier changes, ensuring smooth launches and transitions
  • Complete new and renewal business paperwork and internal documentation
  • Prepare employee communication materials, including brochures, flyers, and payroll stuffers
  • Conduct group education and enrollment meetings at client sites or via webinar
  • Proof booklets and contracts; request Schedule As for IRS Form 5500 filings and facilitate signature-ready Form 5500s
  • Notify clients of legislative and regulatory changes and assist them in understanding applicability
  • Maintain electronic client files, documentation, and records of meetings, issues, and decisions
  • Plan, prioritize, and complete assigned account workloads while meeting internal and external deadlines
  • Conduct business according to established policies and procedures
  • Attend onsite and offsite client meetings as necessary
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 3+ years in group benefits, including at least 1+ year in a Client Manager or similar-level role
  • Licensed in Arizona Health, Life and Disability, or ability to be licensed within 60 days of employment
  • Ability to develop and work with mathematical formulas
  • Effective written and verbal communication with internal and external parties
  • Ability to conduct education and enrollment meetings and comfort with public speaking
  • Excellent time management, organizational, and multitasking skills with high attention to detail
  • Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with clients, carriers, and peers
  • Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products: Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Preferred: Some college or technical training in a related discipline
  • Preferred: Continuing education such as RHU, REBC, CEBS, or CBP
  • Preferred: Experience using Applied EPIC
