About the role
- Gain exposure to the firm’s business and knowledge of the reinsurance industry and develop communications, analytical, marketing and sales skills
- Analyze client data and create reinsurance submissions and coordinate broking placement activities
- Assist in organizing and preparing presentations explaining industry trends, client options and recommending strategic solutions
- Assist senior brokers with client relationship management and sales efforts and respond to client queries
- Provide brokers with market research and financial analysis for current and prospective clients
- Assist in renewing reinsurance programs and monitor accountings (premium payments, loss collections) to anticipate and prevent problems
- Assist with broker review and timely production of contract documentation and follow-up
- Assist with scheduling reinsurer audits and client visits
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of reinsurer capabilities and adhere to best practice procedures and compliance policies
- Develop broking and functional skills through a comprehensive curriculum and training, with preparation for an Account Executive role
Requirements
- Fully matriculated student pursuing a Bachelor's degree with expected graduation date of December 2025 or Spring 2026
- Good computer skills using Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Legal work authorization to work in the U.S. on a permanent and ongoing basis without the need for sponsorship now or in the future
- Strong interpersonal skills for establishing and maintaining client, reinsurer, and internal relationships
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure and to meet deadlines
- Ability to work flexibly as part of multiple teams and autonomously
- Ability to juggle changing priorities and varied workload
- Relevant work experience is a plus
