About the role
- Lead and drive the establishment of the RGO, ensuring the development of clear roles, responsibilities, and governance structures, and setting up the necessary processes and systems to effectively manage and oversee compliance with requirements for the regulated role holders under RG 105, CPS 511, FAR, and SPS 510.
- Accountable for ensuring investigations are performed and applying consequence recommendations for specified role holders in relation to CPS 511
- Provide expert guidance on FAR regulations to ensure alignment with organisational objectives, supporting APs and MSAL’s compliance with requirements
- Lead the design and implementation of FAR, embedding into the MMC Pacific compliance framework and meets all regulatory requirements for accountability and governance.
- Manage and facilitate ongoing monitoring and reporting of FAR compliance, ensuring accurate tracking, documentation, and timely reporting of FAR AP and RM responsibilities and performance to regulators and internal stakeholders.
- Embed robust assurance processes for FAR compliance, leading the investigation, reporting, and resolution of any breaches or concerns related to AP or governance structures.
- Oversee the implementation and maintenance of the framework for appointing and maintaining RMs under ASIC's RG 105
- Oversee the assessment and appointment of RPs, lodgements for all regulated roles, working with the Manager RGO to ensure that all assessments are conducted rigorously, compliant with regulatory standards, and aligned with the organisation’s governance framework.
Requirements
- Highly experienced in regulatory compliance or governance preferably within a large superannuation or other financial services organisation
- Experienced in drafting formal corporate documentation, including board papers, policies and procedures
- Experience in interpreting legal requirements of legislation
- Demonstrated ability to develop detailed knowledge of business processes, policies and procedures
- Strong communication skills both written and oral
- Prior knowledge of CPS 511, SPS 520, RG 105
- Prior experience of BEAR or FAR is desirable, but not essential
- Regulatory and Governance legal frameworks and application
- Solid understanding of compliance environment relating to FAR and CPS 511
