About the role

  • Lead and grow a team of respected subject matter experts on risk management frameworks, controls, and regulatory requirements
  • Lead the execution of Line 1 risk and control activities, ensuring effective risk management practices are embedded across the organisation
  • Provide trusted advice and coaching to senior leaders, risk and control owners to embed strong risk practices and culture
  • Coordinate the program to test the design and operating effectiveness of key controls
  • Facilitate workshops and conduct Risk and Control Self-Assessments (RCSAs) to promote a culture of risk awareness and compliance
  • Support the business to design, implement, and monitor controls to ensure regulatory compliance and mitigate operational risks
  • Collaborate with Material Service Providers (MSPs) to ensure effective implementation and monitoring of risk and control processes end-to-end

Requirements

  • Proven experience in risk management, compliance, and control advisory within the superannuation and broader financial services industries
  • A comprehensive understanding of superannuation business activities, products, and associated regulations, including APRA guidance
  • Strong leadership, critical thinking, communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence diverse audiences
  • 3-5+ years of experience in a similar role with a proven track record in risk advisory and compliance
