About the role
- Join Global Analytics Advisory team at Guy Carpenter supporting portfolio profitability and reinsurance strategies
- Work on one or two targeted projects to advance internal initiatives and receive industry-specific training (eg benchmark pricing of reinsurance contracts)
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide strategic insights to large insurance clients
- Organize and analyze client data, perform actuarial calculations, and compile insights for client recommendations
- Assist with proposal presentations and research industry trends affecting reinsurance programs
- Use MetaRisk software to develop and optimize reinsurance transactions and evaluate impacts on capital, growth, and volatility objectives
Requirements
- Pursuance of bachelor’s or equivalent degree is required
- Open to all majors; preference to STEM-focused majors
- Relevant prior work experience is a plus
- Successfully passed at least one Actuarial Exam is a plus
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel and Word)
- Good problem-solving skills and financial aptitude
- Strong communication and presentation skills: an ability to translate complex technical analysis and concepts into easily understandable terms
- Curious and proactive mindset: desire and ability to lead internal initiatives and research projects to completion
- A collaborative, team-oriented individual with effective interpersonal skills
- Strong ability to be organized and detail oriented
