About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Communicate directly with brokers regarding client needs and advise on reinsurance programs based on risk tolerance and industry trends
  • Perform calculations using specialty models and client data to assess risk exposures and project outcomes
  • Review client data for reasonableness, load data into predictive models, run analyses, and share results with brokers to support reinsurance transactions
  • Direct junior team members in analyzing industry and regulatory developments affecting loss liabilities and client outcomes
  • Build complex MetaRisk analyses and use the model to explain assumptions and results
  • Establish and maintain relationships with brokers, reinsurers, and clients to support new business development in reinsurance actuarial services
  • Support reinsurance actuarial services in collaboration with brokers and client teams

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Data Science, Economics, Accounting, Physics, or a related field
  • 2+ years of actuarial or related experience in underwriting, brokerage, or P&C insurance
  • At least one actuarial exam completed
  • Ability to lead internal initiatives and research projects to completion
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly to brokers and clients
  • Collaborative, team-oriented approach
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and other Microsoft Office products
  • 1+ year of experience or internship in insurance or reinsurance
  • Progress towards CAS track
  • Familiarity with R, Python, SQL, Alteryx, or Power BI
