About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead and execute umbrella and excess casualty placements for education clients, including complex and layered programs with tight timelines
- Develop placement strategy and carrier engagement plans tailored to education risks
- Build and maintain relationships with carrier partners and underwriters to drive outcomes on pricing, terms, and capacity
- Coordinate submission development and underwriting data flow; identify gaps and anticipate underwriter questions
- Support negotiation of coverage terms and structure, including limits, attachments, retentions, and follow-form versus standalone considerations
- Partner with client-facing colleagues to deliver a high-quality client experience
- Contribute market intelligence, best practices, playbooks, benchmarking, and lessons learned to the education placement platform
- Help develop and scale the education-specific placement offering and document repeatable approaches
- Develop understanding of clients' business priorities, risk strategies, and risk management needs
- Identify needs for new products and develop innovative client solutions
- Complete policy management activities and deliver reviewed policies to clients
- Address client inquiries as necessary
- Deliver technical expertise in the delivery and presentation of RFPs
Requirements
What you’ll need- 3–5+ years of relevant experience in casualty placement, underwriting, broking, or excess/umbrella casualty
- Strong understanding of excess casualty program structure and placement workflow
- Demonstrated ability to manage priorities independently and deliver accurate work under time pressure
- P&C license a must, or ability to obtain
- Bachelors' degree preferred
- Experience with large, structured education programs and/or multi-layer placements
- Established market relationships in umbrella/excess casualty
- Ability to work in the local office or onsite with clients at least three days per week
