About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage and advise client accounts for large market employers with 2,000+ lives regarding medical, dental, life, and disability benefit plans and programs
  • Serve as subject matter expert to clients
  • Negotiate with benefits carriers and vendors to secure health and welfare plan coverage
  • Act as primary consultant and relationship manager for clients
  • Lead complex client engagements and manage service delivery, strategy, financial evaluations, plan design, renewals, business placements, benchmarking, and other studies
  • Develop benefits design and renewal strategies
  • Create tools and solutions for complex client issues
  • Determine the full scope of client services and set client-team roles and responsibilities
  • Communicate Mercer's position on the latest industry trends to clients
  • Manage revenue and profitability for client accounts and projects
  • Monitor project scope, budget, timeliness, and client satisfaction
  • Generate sales by expanding existing-client revenues and leading new-client prospecting
  • Set strategic direction and create demand for new products and services

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • BA/BS degree
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in identifying, designing, recommending, and implementing efficient, innovative business solutions to clients' complex healthcare benefits challenges
  • Renowned expertise and industry reputation in the health & benefits field
  • Client-facing experience in a consulting environment
  • Life & Health License
