About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage catastrophe modeling projects from start to finish, ensuring timely completion and high-quality deliverables
- Contribute to client discussions regarding reinsurance strategy, underwriting support, pricing adequacy, and portfolio management
- Build and maintain relationships with brokers, clients, reinsurers, and colleagues
- Respond promptly to client questions and concerns
- Develop expertise in region-specific and/or peril-specific catastrophe risk management services through research, training, and hands-on experience
- Lead internal initiatives and research projects to completion
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously
Requirements
What you’ll need- 2+ years of experience with various catastrophe models and a broad range of insurance segments
- Strong data management skills, including manipulating, interpreting, and extrapolating complex data
- Proficiency with Data Bricks, MS SQL, Python, and R
- Superior communication and presentation skills
- Ability to translate complex technical analysis into clear terms for brokers and clients
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills
- Financial aptitude and fundamental knowledge of the reinsurance industry
- Curious, proactive, and adaptable mindset
- Ability to learn quickly, lead internal initiatives and research projects to completion, and grow beyond current capabilities
- Collaborative, team-oriented approach with strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects at the same time
- Reinsurance experience is a standout qualification
- Experience at a reinsurance broker is a standout qualification
- Practical experience applying AI techniques, including machine learning and modern large-language models, to automate processes is a standout qualification
