About the role
- Creating, developing and commercializing packaging initiatives that support sustainability focused business needs for Mars Wrigley North America
- Providing technical support to troubleshoot key quality or manufacturing issues
- Leveraging internal and external networks
- Managing deliverables of multiple projects simultaneously
- Independently recommending and consulting on packaging platform solutions
- Effectively communicating projects details and risk in appropriate forum to all levels of organization including vendors and customers
- Leading development of ‘fit for purpose ‘packaging platforms that are designed to maximize desirability/feasibility/viability/sustainability
- Leading areas of sustainable technical development across NA packaging portfolio
- Developing detailed packaging specifications to ensure quality materials and best value for money on all packaging components used at our facilities, co-packers and co-manufacturers
- Initiating, coordinating and executing line trials at appropriate supply locations to confirm that quality attributes and performance metrics are achieved
- Working with the cross-functional cell teams to ensure solutions are fit for purpose and achieve KQAs
- Managing packaging suppliers to ensure proper execution of projects and recommends/qualifies new ones when appropriate
- Coordinating the creation of high-quality prototypes to gauge consumer desirability, influence teams and support customer collaboration
Requirements
- BS in Packaging Science (preferred) or other engineering/science related discipline or equivalent
- 6 -10 Years packaging development
- Up to 50% travel
- Food/CPG and manufacturing experience
- Flexible films development experience
