About the role

  • Creating, developing and commercializing packaging initiatives that support sustainability focused business needs
  • Providing technical support to troubleshoot key quality or manufacturing issues
  • Leading development of ‘fit for purpose ‘packaging platforms
  • Leading areas of sustainable technical development across NA packaging portfolio
  • Developing detailed packaging specifications to ensure quality materials and best value for money
  • Initiating, coordinating and executing line trials at appropriate supply locations
  • Working with the cross-functional cell teams to ensure solutions are fit for purpose
  • Managing packaging suppliers to ensure proper execution of projects
  • Coordinating the creation of high-quality prototypes
  • Collaborating with global Mars counterparts to spot opportunities for scale
  • Supporting onboarding of Associate Packaging Engineers and Packaging Engineers

Requirements

  • B.S. Packaging Science Degree or related technical discipline or equivalent
  • 3+ years of industry experience
  • Solid understanding of key scientific principles associated with packaging
  • Demonstrated record of success performing research
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively with teams
  • Effective communication skills
  • Advanced degree in Packaging Science or related technical discipline (preferred)
  • Food/CPG and manufacturing experience (preferred)
  • Flexible films development experience (preferred)
