About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Exceed sales quota within an assigned territory by driving market acceptance and adoption of Acumed products
  • Convert key surgeons to Acumed products using technical and surgical knowledge
  • Develop customer relationships, listen to customer needs, and provide product solutions and services
  • Provide technical advice to customers to optimize product use, surgeon satisfaction, and patient outcomes
  • Assess the customer base to identify new business opportunities and develop targeted sales strategies
  • Develop and implement business plans to identify and close new business
  • Identify prospect needs and deliver appropriate written, telephone, and face-to-face responses
  • Perform field sales calls, on-call support, and operating room consultation
  • Provide post-sale follow-up, manage delivery dates, conduct in-service training, and coordinate product replenishment
  • Communicate product updates, portfolio changes, and medical educational programs to customer accounts
  • Cross-sell additional products and introduce new products
  • Drive customer satisfaction and promptly resolve account issues
  • Maintain customer records using the company CRM tool
  • Maintain compliance with the AdvaMed code of conduct, applicable laws and regulations, accreditation and licensure requirements, and company policies
  • Coach, train, or mentor Associate Sales Representatives as needed
  • Maintain current sales skills and product knowledge
  • Monitor medical device industry, customer, and competitive trends
  • Participate in tradeshows, sales meetings, promotional activities, and professional association meetings

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field, with business or medical discipline preferred, or equivalent experience
  • 7+ years of demonstrated successful sales experience, preferably in medical devices or industry
  • Excellent analytical, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with physicians and other surgical personnel
  • Experience building and maintaining relationships with surgeons and hospitals in the respective areas
  • Knowledge of principles and methods for presenting, promoting, and selling products or services, including marketing strategy and tactics, product demonstration, sales techniques, and sales control systems
  • Comfortable working in emergency and operating room environments
  • Ability to gain necessary credentialing for hospital access
  • Required to obtain hospital-required credentials for frequent surgery visits and observations
  • Must comply with applicable laws, regulations, accreditation and licensure requirements, and company policies
