About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Drive sales strategy and growth for Marmon Utility’s Southern and Western market region
- Develop and execute comprehensive sales strategies to increase market penetration and achieve growth targets for Power Utility products
- Drive order growth, revenues, profitability, market share, sales productivity, and customer satisfaction
- Lead, develop, recruit, manage, and coach the regional sales organization and Regional Sales Managers
- Foster a high-performance culture and train the team in consultative and insight selling skills
- Manage the full sales cycle from lead generation through solution design, contracting, and implementation
- Develop key customer relationships and identify, develop, and close new account opportunities
- Conduct client presentations, information discovery sessions, product demonstrations, and proposals for senior executives
- Establish relationships with senior executives at IOUs and Public Power businesses
- Oversee market segmentation, sales processes, forecasting, and pipeline management with Marketing
- Create regional business and marketing plans and support marketing events
- Identify new products and sales channel opportunities with Marketing and Engineering
- Maintain personal target accounts and support increased market share across the region
- Provide timely and accurate forecasts and manage sales opportunities in the CRM system
- Track market activities, metrics, competitor information, sales activities, opportunity details, and forecasts in CRM
Requirements
What you’ll need- Four-year college degree from an accredited institution, or equivalent successful experience in the power utility industry
- 10+ years’ experience working in manufacturing of products and services for the Power Utility Industry
- Wire and Cable industry experience is a plus
- Minimum 5 years of experience in sales team management required
- Experience leading and overseeing a medium to large sales team
- High proficiency with technology, especially CRM applications
- Ability to use data and quantitative analysis to manage people and processes
- Excellent customer service skills
- Impeccable verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to solve problems collaboratively
- Structured, analytical, organized, problem-solving mindset
- High integrity and sense of accountability
- May require up to 40% travel
- Candidate must reside within the continental Southern or Eastern United States
- Candidates must complete additional job-related screening processes following a conditional offer, as permitted or required by applicable law
