About the role
- Conduct detailed analysis of preprocessing activities to identify areas for optimization and efficiency improvement
- Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to ensure preprocessing aligns with repair specifications
- Develop ‘assigned car shopping’ estimates for repair facilities across the UTLX network, considering customer specifications and regulatory requirements
- Collaborate with Fleet and Repair Project Engineers to understand technical requirements and incorporate them into program estimates
- Coordinate with the Scheduling team to align preprocessing timelines with overall repair schedules
- Provide material requirement reports (MRRs) to facility Supply Chain team to ensure required part numbers are available
- Stay informed about industry regulations and ensure that program estimates adhere to relevant standards
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in preprocessing methods and contribute to implementation of best practices
- Perform other duties and projects as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree preferred in a relevant field or equivalent experience
- Experience in preprocessing analysis within the rail tank car repair industry preferred
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and present data effectively
- Proficiency in data analytics tools and IT systems preferred
- Excellent organizational skills
- Effective communication and interpersonal abilities
- Analytical mindset with a focus on data-driven decision-making
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
