Human Resources Generalist
MarketStarHuman Resources Generalist providing HR administration and support for employees at MarketStar. Fostering a positive employee experience and ensuring compliance with HR policies and processes.
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Serve as a first point of contact for employee questions related to policies, benefits, leaves, and general HR inquiries
- Administer and coordinate day-to-day HR operations including onboarding, offboarding, and employee life cycle changes
- Maintain and update employee records in HRIS systems, ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal processes and regulatory standards
- Partner with managers on headcount tracking, job requisition approvals, and internal mobility
- Prepare and analyze HR reports, dashboards, and metrics to support data-driven decision-making
- Administer and track leave of absences, ensuring accurate documentation, timely communication, and compliance with applicable laws and company policies
- Assist with compliance audits, recordkeeping, and employment law updates across relevant jurisdictions
- Contribute to company culture initiatives and employee engagement programs
- Participate in continuous improvement projects to streamline HR workflows and enhance employee experience
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources in related field or HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) or work-related experience
- Experience using HRIS platforms; Workday experience preferred
- Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated ability for judgment, planning, time management, communication, decision making, presentation, organization, and interpersonal skills
- Strong understanding of HR principles and best practices, with a working knowledge of employment laws and regulations (e.g., FMLA, FLSA, ADA, EEO, wage and hour, health and safety)
- Able to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
- Analytical mindset with proficiency in Excel or other tools for reporting and data analysis
- Ability to manage projects and initiatives from inception to completion
- Strong service mindset with a consultative approach to supporting employees and leaders
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust across diverse teams
