About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead and perform actuarial analyses that support reserving, forecasting, and strategic decision-making
- Evaluate new business opportunities, providing data-driven insights
- Monitor emerging risks and communicate business implications
- Partner with Underwriting, Legal, Reinsurance, and Accounting teams
- Develop and govern actuarial models and methodologies
- Present findings and strategic recommendations to senior leadership
- Mentor and develop actuarial talent
- Support State National's values and strategic priorities
Requirements
What you’ll need- ACAS required
- FCAS preferred
- 8+ years of progressively responsible actuarial experience
- Strong commercial lines reserving expertise
- Proven ability to explain complex actuarial concepts
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving capabilities
- Experience with SQL, Python, Excel, and related technologies
- Ability to travel up to 15% as needed
