About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Own the day-to-day management and governance of your Scheme portfolio
Run structured Quarterly Business Reviews with underwriters and brokers
Analyse underwriting, claims and operational MI to identify trends, risks and opportunities
Deliver clear commentary and recommendations to drive profitable outcomes
Act as the primary point of contact for broker and MGA partners
Build strong, credible relationships internally and externally
Manage expectations, provide timely responses and resolve issues confidently
Support the onboarding of new Schemes and development opportunities
Contribute insights into the wider Schemes growth and retention plan
Champion service excellence and continuous improvement across delegated business
Ensure Schemes operate in line with Markel’s governance and compliance framework

Requirements

What you’ll need

Proven experience in delegated authority / Schemes within the UK Broker or MGA market
A strong background in account management with a track record of managing Scheme portfolios
Confidence analysing performance data and translating insight into action
Experience leading broker reviews, renewals and performance discussions
Strong partner management skills, with the ability to influence and challenge constructively
A proactive, self-starting outlook and a passion for building long-term relationships
