About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Own the day-to-day management and governance of your Scheme portfolio
  • Run structured Quarterly Business Reviews with underwriters and brokers
  • Analyse underwriting, claims and operational MI to identify trends, risks and opportunities
  • Deliver clear commentary and recommendations to drive profitable outcomes
  • Act as the primary point of contact for broker and MGA partners
  • Build strong, credible relationships internally and externally
  • Manage expectations, provide timely responses and resolve issues confidently
  • Support the onboarding of new Schemes and development opportunities
  • Contribute insights into the wider Schemes growth and retention plan
  • Champion service excellence and continuous improvement across delegated business
  • Ensure Schemes operate in line with Markel’s governance and compliance framework

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Proven experience in delegated authority / Schemes within the UK Broker or MGA market
  • A strong background in account management with a track record of managing Scheme portfolios
  • Confidence analysing performance data and translating insight into action
  • Experience leading broker reviews, renewals and performance discussions
  • Strong partner management skills, with the ability to influence and challenge constructively
  • A proactive, self-starting outlook and a passion for building long-term relationships
