About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Lead and implement the strategic vision and plan of Markel's Cyber and Tech E&O product lines
Provide leadership, direction and support to underwriting teams
Responsible for product profitability, growth and retention of new and renewal business
Manage assigned product lines to achieve profit, revenue, loss ratio, and expense targets
Ensure effective execution of best practices
Provide coaching and training for underwriting staff
Develop and maintain relationships with internal resources (Actuarial, Product Development, Claim, IT, Operations, Regulatory, etc.)

Requirements

What you’ll need

A minimum of eight plus years’ experience in underwriting, claims and/or brokering in Cyber/ Technology Liability or Professional Liability
Four-year degree in business or related field from an accredited University/College, or equivalent related years of work experience
Strong customer service focus and interpersonal skills
Ability to communicate effectively and excellent negotiation skills
Strong analytical and organizational skills and excellent problem solving/decision making abilities
Solid understanding of cyber security protocols, industry specific emerging risks, and regulatory landscape
Must be a team player and work independently as needed
High energy, ability to deliver exceptional written and verbal presentations
25% travel required
