About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead and implement the strategic vision and plan of the Binding P&C portfolio
- Provide leadership, direction, and support to underwriting team(s)
- Responsible for product profitability, growth, and retention
- Develop and maintain productive relationships within assigned UW segments
- Manage the portfolio to achieve profit, revenue, loss ratio, and expense targets
- Ensure effective execution of best practices
Requirements
What you’ll need- 5-7 years of casualty underwriting experience
- Insurance designations preferred but not required
- Bachelor's degree in business or related field from an accredited university/college
- Strong interpersonal and management skills
- Strong analytical skills and excellent problem solving/decision making abilities
- US Work Authorization required; Markel does not provide visa sponsorship
