Lead and implement strategic development and execution of organizational goals and objectives for Inland Marine
Provide leadership, direction and support to underwriting team(s)
Responsible for underwriting, profitability, growth and retention of new and renewal business
Manage underwriting functions to achieve profit, revenue, loss ratio, and expense targets
Ensure effective execution of best practices
Delegate underwriting authority to staff
Provide coaching and training for underwriting staff
Communicate issues to Marketing
Develop and maintain relationships with internal resources to coordinate services to customers
Manage day-to-day work activities of underwriting team
Underwrite new and renewal business profitably
Address career and training needs on an individual basis
Oversee overall quality of the unit’s performance through audits

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree preferred
5-10 years of inland marine and property underwriting
Demonstrated aptitude to manage people and projects
Proven ability to make sound underwriting decisions
Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
Ability to achieve business goals and objectives
Demonstrated sales, marketing and relationship management skill
US Work Authorization required
