About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Oversee administration, compliance, and strategic optimization of the 340B Drug Pricing Program across MarinHealth Medical Center and nine affiliated sites
- Respond to requests regarding 340B activities
- Collaborate with contract pharmacy vendors and pharmacy wholesalers
- Serve as liaison for 340B software vendors and wholesale distributors
- Support installation and continuous utilization of vendor software
- Resolve and follow up on vendor and wholesaler issues
- Coordinate 340B needs with the buyer and Pharmacy IT
- Plan and implement the 340B program and contract pharmacy network
- Evaluate pharmacies, establish contractual relationships, and maximize network efficiency
- Perform contract pharmacy site visits when appropriate
- Maintain split-billing software mapping and investigate billing NDC discrepancies and pricing issues
- Review contract pharmacy invoices and prepare invoices, savings reports, purchasing reports, and financial reports
- Review policies and procedures for effectiveness and compliance with state and federal 340B regulations
- Develop reconciliation processes and standard operating procedures
- Provide compliance, audit, effectiveness, and regulatory reports to the Director of Compliance and Ethics
- Assess cost-saving and business-improvement opportunities
- Collaborate across departments and sites to communicate improvements and promote participation
- Lead priority 340B projects through completion
- Provide ongoing training, education, and communication for the 340B program
- Assist the Pharmacy Director and CFO with HRSA and manufacturer audits
- Collaborate with IT and decision-support resources on data needs
- Perform continuous quality-assurance audits of contract pharmacy operations, financial transactions, and patient/provider qualifications
- Prepare audit findings, reports, graphs, charts, presentations, conclusions, predictions, and recommendations
- Monitor implemented changes and recommend further improvements
Requirements
What you’ll need- Two-year degree or better, or expected completion within one year, and five years of hospital pharmacy experience
- Two years of 340B program experience preferred
- Working knowledge of the 340B Drug Program and contract pharmacy operations
- Familiarity with 340B split-billing software and configurations
- Two years of pharmacy purchasing and inventory management experience or related experience
- Registered Pharmacy Technician (PHRMTECH-R) required at hire
- Integrative Agitation Management (IAMTAC) required within 30 days of hire
- National Pharmacy Technician (PHARM-C) Certification preferred at hire
- Ability to use Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Critical-thinking skills for 340B program analysis
- Ability to analyze and use statistical and financial report data to identify issues, trends, and exceptions
- Leadership skills to implement organizational improvements
- Strong organization skills and ability to work independently and prioritize multiple projects
- Ability to provide care/service according to patient age-related physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety criteria
- HIPAA compliance and handling of protected health information
- Effective verbal and written communication and presentation skills
- Team-building and educational teaching skills
