About the role

  • Responsible for the workflow and effectiveness of the grant procurement process with private foundation, corporation, and select government grants including: Strategic planning and goal setting, Prospect research and vetting, Funder cultivation and solicitation
  • Prepare and supervise the ongoing progress of multi-million dollar grant proposals.
  • Collaborate on grant concept, prepare drafts including executive summaries, propose modifications and ensure completion of all grants.
  • Prepare and maintain grant records and develop, maintain, and share a comprehensive annual grants calendar that establishes target dates for information gathering, writing, review, approval, transmittal, and reporting.
  • Follow proposal and reporting standards to develop and track annual grants budget.
  • Develops annual targets, strategies, and tactics while analyzing performance data to identify areas for improvement/growth.
  • Maintains focus on pursuing new and well-vetted opportunities, planned approaches, and solid execution to support a high rate of return on the organization’s efforts.
  • Develops and implements funder cultivation strategies and materials in order to build and grow a network of relationships that support institutional giving growth.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of grant management experience preferred, including experience with foundation, corporate, and government grants.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience with nonprofit program evaluation and/or program development.
  • Ability to administer a large-scale, highly collaborative grant program involving cross-department team members.
  • Proactive and action-oriented personality; strong sense of pace and urgency.
  • Ability to synthesize verbal and written sources of information and data into coherent program case statements that meet grantor needs and application requirements.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong project management skills.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple complex tasks and maintain composure under demanding deadlines.
  • Flexibility in approach and ability to adapt to changing conditions and priorities.
  • Proven problem-solving skills and solutions-focused attitude.
  • Enthusiasm and passion for MCHWC’s mission and programs.
  • Strong Cultural competency, and deep understanding of community and population being served.
  • Excellent computer skills, including Excel, Word, and Access.
  • Strong database skills, Salesforce and Raisers Edge preferred.
