About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Identify repair and replacement needs, installing, repairing, and maintaining the County’s HVAC Systems and equipment
- Follow a second-shift schedule from 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.
- Troubleshoot, repair, install, and replace various HVAC systems and components
- Perform preventative maintenance tasks on HVAC systems
- Respond to repair and service calls and maintain communication with clients and staff
- Operate computers and mobile devices for time management, inventory, and work assignments
- Monitor and control temperatures utilizing the Facilities Automation System
Requirements
What you’ll need- Three years of journey-level experience in troubleshooting and repair of commercial/industrial air conditioning systems
- High school diploma or GED
- Completion of an apprenticeship program or vocational education in HVAC may substitute for one year of the experience requirement
- Must possess an EPA or Universal EPA certification
- Successful candidates must currently possess, or have the ability to obtain, a valid Arizona driver's license by the time of hire
- Must complete a Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA) and MCSO background investigation and TOC certification to access County detention facilities
- Five years of experience troubleshooting and repairing HVAC systems within an institutional, industrial, or heavy commercial environment
- Experience with Maximo or related project management software products
