About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Identify repair and replacement needs, installing, repairing, and maintaining the County’s HVAC Systems and equipment
Follow a second-shift schedule from 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.
Troubleshoot, repair, install, and replace various HVAC systems and components
Perform preventative maintenance tasks on HVAC systems
Respond to repair and service calls and maintain communication with clients and staff
Operate computers and mobile devices for time management, inventory, and work assignments
Monitor and control temperatures utilizing the Facilities Automation System

Requirements

What you’ll need

Three years of journey-level experience in troubleshooting and repair of commercial/industrial air conditioning systems
High school diploma or GED
Completion of an apprenticeship program or vocational education in HVAC may substitute for one year of the experience requirement
Must possess an EPA or Universal EPA certification
Successful candidates must currently possess, or have the ability to obtain, a valid Arizona driver's license by the time of hire
Must complete a Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA) and MCSO background investigation and TOC certification to access County detention facilities
Five years of experience troubleshooting and repairing HVAC systems within an institutional, industrial, or heavy commercial environment
Experience with Maximo or related project management software products
