About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform as a senior construction manager, directly managing field construction activities on multiple construction projects.
- Providing guidance and direction to contractors, resolving construction issues and problems at the lowest level, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.
- Perform in-house reviews of construction plans and specifications, participate in constructability reviews, and prepare reports documenting construction activities and progress.
- Use engineering knowledge to identify and resolve construction problems in accordance with the plans and specifications.
- Provide guidance and mentor other construction managers and inspectors.
- Coordinate with project managers, stakeholders, and agencies to ensure the successful completion of construction projects that will meet the expectations of all project partners.
- Other job duties as assigned.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Two years of professional experience as a Resident Engineer
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related field
- Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) by the Arizona State Board of Technical Registration, or by the technical board of another state, with the ability to obtain Arizona registration within six months of employment
- Successful candidates must currently possess, or have the ability to obtain, a valid Arizona driver's license by the time of hire.
- Horizontal construction experience in public works projects, emphasizing flood control-type projects, including dam safety-related construction experience
- Construction experience on roadway and transportation projects
- Direct work experience with dam safety projects and geotechnical engineering
- Experience in the review of projects for constructability and bid-readiness
- Experience with construction alternative project delivery methods
- Certified Construction Manager (CCM)
- Experience on federally funded construction projects
