About the role
- Provide critical and necessary support to nearly all county roadway transportation and maintenance projects
- Lead a team of utility coordination professionals
- Manage, negotiate/obtain agreements and ensure identification, relocation, and costs for various utilities on each project
- Evaluate complex utility designs and ensure that projects are clear of utility infrastructure conflicts prior to construction
- Conduct utility construction, contractor, and other permit review and processing along with assigning, directing, and reviewing the work of others
Requirements
- Two years of professional pre-registration civil engineering experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
- Certification as an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) may substitute for the experience requirement
- A combination of related post-secondary education and/or job-related experience may substitute for the minimum qualifications on a year-for-year basis
- Successful candidates must currently possess, or have the ability to obtain, a valid Arizona driver's license by the time of hire.
- Six years of utility coordination, land surveying experience, construction inspection, construction management, or engineering design
- Prior experience with land/property rights, construction standards, traffic control, railroad safety, and design review
