About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Review and respond to financial process inquiries submitted via phone, email, or service desk
Review and analyze cost reports, contracts, and other financial data to advise customers
Enter and analyze data and create reports
Initiate, support, and process travel requisitions and reimbursements, purchase requisitions, internal transfers, and payments to individuals
Maintain transaction documentation and confirm completeness, accuracy, and policy compliance
Review and monitor department- and customer-defined key performance indicators
Maintain Business Analytics software dashboards with timely account and financial information
Manage customer relationships and participate in client department meetings
Identify recurring issues, escalate them, and participate in business process improvement
Provide monthly variance analysis and account-services reconciliation to departments
Advise clients on best practices and solutions to reduce errors and optimize resources
Review client accounts for accurate accounting of expenditures
Promote financial policies, procedures, and programs and educate customers on their interpretation
Perform all other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's Degree is required
Three (3) years of financial transactions experience or related experience is required
Knowledge of institutional financial administration policies, procedures, and practices
Knowledge of governmental and institutional regulations, guidelines, policies, and procedures
Knowledge of records management policies and procedures
Knowledge of accounting systems and data
Ability to prepare financial reports using existing systems and data
Customer-service focus that is responsive and empathetic
Relationship-building and consultative skills
Strong problem-solving, critical-thinking, oral and written communication, time-management, and project-management skills
Fundamental knowledge of accounting practices and agency reimbursement programs
Comfortable working with personal computer/software, PeopleSoft, and Microsoft Office Suite
