About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Review and respond to financial process inquiries submitted via phone, email, or service desk
- Review and analyze cost reports, contracts, and other financial data to advise customers
- Enter and analyze data and create reports
- Initiate, support, and process travel requisitions and reimbursements, purchase requisitions, internal transfers, and payments to individuals
- Maintain transaction documentation and confirm completeness, accuracy, and policy compliance
- Review and monitor department- and customer-defined key performance indicators
- Maintain Business Analytics software dashboards with timely account and financial information
- Manage customer relationships and participate in client department meetings
- Identify recurring issues, escalate them, and participate in business process improvement
- Provide monthly variance analysis and account-services reconciliation to departments
- Advise clients on best practices and solutions to reduce errors and optimize resources
- Review client accounts for accurate accounting of expenditures
- Promote financial policies, procedures, and programs and educate customers on their interpretation
- Perform all other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's Degree is required
- Three (3) years of financial transactions experience or related experience is required
- Knowledge of institutional financial administration policies, procedures, and practices
- Knowledge of governmental and institutional regulations, guidelines, policies, and procedures
- Knowledge of records management policies and procedures
- Knowledge of accounting systems and data
- Ability to prepare financial reports using existing systems and data
- Customer-service focus that is responsive and empathetic
- Relationship-building and consultative skills
- Strong problem-solving, critical-thinking, oral and written communication, time-management, and project-management skills
- Fundamental knowledge of accounting practices and agency reimbursement programs
- Comfortable working with personal computer/software, PeopleSoft, and Microsoft Office Suite
