About the role

  • Collaborate with researchers, clinicians, and IT teams to understand and optimize Epic modules for research-related workflows.
  • Configure and customize Epic applications to support data collection, analysis, and reporting in the fields of genomics and cosmos research.
  • Work closely with genomics researchers to integrate genomic data into the Epic EHR system.
  • Configure and maintain interfaces between Epic and genomics platforms to ensure accurate and secure data exchange.
  • Collaborate with researchers to develop interfaces for integrating cosmos-related data into the Epic system.
  • Implement solutions for tracking and documenting cosmic-related research data within the Epic environment.
  • Conduct workflow analysis to identify opportunities for process improvement in research-related activities within the Epic system.
  • Implement changes and optimizations to streamline research workflows and enhance data accuracy.
  • Provide training to end-users, researchers, and clinicians on the use of Epic applications in the context of genomics and cosmos research.
  • Act as a primary point of contact for troubleshooting and support related to research-specific Epic functionalities.
  • Ensure compliance with data security and privacy regulations in the handling and storage of genomics and cosmos-related data within the Epic system.
  • Collaborate with compliance officers to implement and maintain necessary security measures.
  • Document configuration changes, workflows, and integrations within the Epic system.
  • Generate reports and analyses to support research initiatives and compliance requirements.

Requirements

  • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Proficiency in Epic configuration tools and modules.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to understand and interpret requirements from researchers and clinicians.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy.
  • Adaptability and willingness to learn about new technologies and scientific domains.
  • Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree (4 years of comparable experience may be substituted for a degree).
  • Experience:
  • A minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience with clinical or business systems with exposure to software development/build lifecycles.
  • Epic certification in relevant modules (e.g., Research, Genomics) is preferred.
  • Experience in configuring and optimizing Epic applications, particularly in a research context is preferred.
  • Familiarity with genomics analysis tools, platforms, and data standards is preferred.
  • Basic understanding of research concepts and familiarity with cosmos-related data sources is preferred.
  • Additional Licenses and Certifications:
  • As specified by the department director, Epic certification for assigned modules are required within eighteen (18) months of hire. Epic certification must be maintained per Epic Corporation standards.

  • A generous leave program offers multiple paid leave options: Front-loaded Paid Time Off: 128 to 208 hours (16 to 26 days) of Paid Time Off based on years of service, given at the start of each fiscal year. PTO may be prorated in year one based on date of hire. Extended Illness Bank: 8 hours (1 day) accrued per month which can be used for illness or injury after one day of Paid Time Off is taken. Paid Family Leave: Up to 240 hours (6 weeks) to care for a spouse, child, or parent after 6 months of consecutive employment. Holidays: 12 set paid holidays each year.
