About the role
- Plan events from start to finish according to business requirements and objectives creating a project plan, timeline and coordinating event marketing
- Manage the events or projects within the specific budgets
- Source and negotiate with vendors and suppliers
- Lead promotional activities for the event
- Come up with suggestions to enhance the event’s success
- Manage the vendors and venues on-site as well as any event staff as needed
- Ensure event is completed smoothly and resolve any problems that arise during the planning process or on-site during the event
- Host kick-off and debrief meetings as needed with a presentation giving an overview of the event or project
- Analyze the event’s success and track year-over-year data for statistical analysis
- Maintain clear and organized documentation of project plans, timelines, budgets, and daily tasks to ensure smooth execution of events
- Work with Cvent
- Collaborate internally to identify new strategies for promoting events and sponsorships
- Special projects as needed including awards and recognition
- Report to the Senior Vice President, Events and collaborate with internal and external clients, stakeholders, senior management, vendors, and other departments
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree. Event planning, communications, marketing or business preferred.
- Five (5) years of experience in the event planning and/or hospitality industry.
- Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, Outlook
- Cvent and Social Tables experience preferred
- Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills
- Exceptional attention to detail and a mindset focused on process improvement and documentation
- Skilled in project management; must be highly organized, proactive, detail and deadline oriented with the ability to handle multiple priorities at once
- Ability to maintain calm in stressful situation and manage changes without getting flustered
- Problem-solving abilities
- Strong negotiation skills
- Demonstrates a commitment to learning and maintaining familiarity with commercial real estate terminology and industry practices
- Working knowledge of Adobe PDF editing tools
- Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud applications (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) is a plus
- A team player with leadership skills
- Must have valid drivers license
- Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds
