About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage a caseload of moderate to high-exposure and complex property claims from assignment through final resolution.
- Investigate losses, gather facts, evaluate damages, and determine coverage in accordance with policy provisions and applicable regulations.
- Conduct thorough on-site inspections, structure evaluations, personal property assessments, and site analyses.
- Prepare accurate damage estimates and evaluate repair and replacement costs.
- Negotiate settlements with policyholders, public adjusters, contractors, restoration providers, attorneys, and other stakeholders.
- Handle litigated claims and collaborate with legal partners as necessary.
- Maintain proactive and professional communication with policyholders throughout the claim lifecycle.
- Partner with internal teams and external vendors to ensure timely and effective claim resolution.
- Apply property claims best practices, company guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
- Respond to catastrophe (CAT) events and assist with disaster-related claims as needed.
- Mentor less experienced claims professionals and support knowledge-sharing initiatives.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and operational efficiencies.
- Maintain all required state adjuster licenses and compliance requirements.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Business, Insurance, Risk Management, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 4 years of property claims adjusting experience handling residential property losses.
- Equivalent combination of an Associate degree and 6+ years of relevant claims experience may be considered.
- Experience managing moderate to complex homeowners' property claims from investigation through settlement.
- Previous field adjusting experience preferred.
- Strong investigative and analytical abilities.
- Advanced negotiation and conflict-resolution skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to build trust and rapport with customers during stressful situations.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to prioritize competing demands and manage a high-volume caseload.
- Sound decision-making and problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
