About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- A Technical Product Manager understands customer needs and translates them to requirements.
- They work with engineers and architects ensuring that requirements are understood, and that implementation plans match expectations.
- Oversee one or some projects and products for the company.
- They will also oversee all aspects of a project from defining its requirements to evaluating the finished product.
- Ensures all stages (ideation, development, launch, post-launch) are well-defined.
- Conducts market research and competitive analysis to identify product opportunities and market trends.
- Demonstrates the ability to communicate clearly either written or orally with customers, developers, management or peers.
- Conducts user research to understand user needs and translate them into product requirements.
- Partners with Tech leaders to define the technology roadmap, ensuring alignment with product strategy and business objectives.
- Creates clear and compelling product presentations tailored for consumption by technical and non-technical audiences.
- Collaborate with Product Owners and business leaders to define product success metrics (KPIs), establish product vision, and communicate product impact to stakeholders at all levels.
- Develops and prioritizes the product backlog based on user needs, business value, and technical feasibility.
- Creates and maintains product documentation, including user guides, technical specifications, and release notes.
- Analyzes product usage data and user feedback to measure product performance against KPIs and identify areas for improvement.
- Leads and mentors other TPMs, providing feedback, and supporting their development.
- Stays up-to-date on industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in product management.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology or a related field
- Preferred 8+ years of experience in product management, with a focus on technical products
- Strong expertise of Agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, DAD, etc.)
- Expertise in user research methodologies (e.g., A/B testing, user journey mapping)
- Proficiency in product analytics tools and data analysis tools
- Expertise in emerging technologies relevant to the insurance industry (e.g., AI, Blockchain, Gen AI)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor presentations for various audiences.
- Makes independent and strategic decisions on product direction, roadmap development, and resource allocation.
- Leads cross-functional teams and builds consensus among stakeholders.
