About the role
- Develop and implement cloud strategies aligned with business objectives
- Design and document cloud solutions, including architecture diagrams and technical specifications
- Build and deploy production systems in AWS, leveraging services for compute, storage, databases and networking
- Identify opportunities to optimize cloud spending and resource utilization, ensuring cost-effective solutions
- Implement and maintain security best practices, including data protection, access control, and compliance with relevant regulations
- Monitor cloud solutions for performance issues and troubleshoot problems
- Ensure high availability and scalability of systems
- Provide technical guidance to teams on AWS services, best practices, and emerging technologies
- Explore and recommend innovative solutions to improve business operations and automate processes using AWS
- Effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences and collaborate with various teams
- Experience and expertise in migration to AWS from DC
- Actively shape the overall technical vision for MAPFRE
- Build and lead high-performing architect teams, mentoring and coaching junior, mid-level, and potentially senior architects
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field
- 15+ years of experience in relevant programming languages and software development principles
- Experience in building and leading high-performing architect teams is preferred
- Deep experience and understanding of AWS, IaaS and PaaS/SaaS services, including Kubernetes, compute, storage, networking, databases, security, and management tools
- Proven experience in designing and implementing cloud solutions, including migration strategies
- Knowledge of cloud security best practices, including IAM, security groups, and encryption
- Understanding of networking concepts, including VPCs, subnets, and routing
- Strong knowledge of IaC (Terraform, Ansible) and scripting languages (e.g., Python, Shell)
