About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, and other relevant services
  • Develop and maintain data architecture, including data models, schemas, and data dictionaries
  • Integrate data from various sources and ensure data quality and consistency
  • Prepare data for analytical and operational use
  • Follow data governance policies and processes to ensure data security, privacy, and compliance
  • Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and business team members to understand requirements and develop solutions
  • Stay current with tools and technologies and identify opportunities to enhance data infrastructure
  • Learn and implement big data and cloud computing best practices to deliver scalable, efficient, and effective solutions
  • Develop and maintain automation to streamline operations and improve efficiency

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 4 or more years of relevant industry experience as a Data Engineer
  • Experience building and operationalizing data pipelines in Microsoft Azure using Azure Data Factory and Azure Databricks
  • Experience implementing and supporting data governance solutions using Databricks Unity Catalog, including metadata management, data lineage, auditing, fine-grained access controls, data discovery, and secure data sharing
  • Experience automating data pipelines and familiarity with DevOps and CI/CD pipelines
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Azure services, including SQL, ADLS Gen2, ADF, Databricks, Synapse, and SQL Server
  • Experience designing scalable data ecosystems
  • Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts and relational data modeling
  • Experience with Python, SQL, Java, and/or Scala
  • Understanding of Agile Scrum methodologies and experience working within Agile teams
  • Experience in data processing, performance tuning, monitoring, and capacity planning
  • Familiarity with production release and operational support models
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and solutioning skills
  • Capacity for constant learning, openness to change, and continuous improvement
