About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support forest carbon project development through technical and data-driven workstreams under supervision
- Gather, organize, and manage geospatial and quantitative datasets, including project boundaries and remote sensing data
- Conduct Comparable Properties Analysis and related spatial analyses with oversight
- Maintain organized geospatial data systems and file structures
- Develop maps, figures, and geospatial outputs for project documentation
- Populate quantitative and standardized sections of project documentation and ensure consistency
- Prepare materials for validation and verification, including data rooms and issue tracking logs
- Compile harvest records and develop field verification materials such as tree lists
- Review forestry documents and summarize key insights
- Provide carbon-focused data and documentation support to acquisitions and internal stakeholders
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure alignment and data accuracy
- Apply Excel, GIS, and Python/R tools to improve workflows and data quality
- Liaise with operations and investment management teams, including foresters and acquisitions teams
- Support carbon credit sales and marketing efforts with data and document support
- Contribute to policy and strategy development related to forest carbon and nature-based solutions
- Research emerging forest carbon opportunities and share technical insights
- Perform additional responsibilities as needed to support project and strategy execution
- Report to the Managing Director of II & NCS
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Forestry, Natural Resources, Environmental Science, or a related field
- 1–2+ years of experience in forest carbon, forestry, or a related quantitative discipline (preferred)
- Strong geospatial and analytical skills
- Experience with GIS tools such as ArcGIS and QGIS
- Ability to leverage AI tools and digital solutions to automate workflows and enhance data interpretation
- Proficiency in Excel
- Familiarity with Python or R (preferred)
- Experience with technical writing and standardized documentation
- Basic understanding of voluntary and compliance forest carbon markets, including IFM methodologies
- Strong organizational and data management skills
- Ability to work collaboratively across teams in a structured environment
- Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks accurately
