About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Build relationships with advisors and act as their advocate and consistent point of contact during New Business and In-Force processes
- Ensure applications move accurately through processing stages within service standards
- Order medical evidence and review applications and attachments for completeness and accuracy
- Work with advisors and head office departments to correct application or process errors
- Own and prioritize assigned files based on urgency
- Influence internal clients to meet service standards
- Maintain comprehensive case notes
- Escalate complex service issues and complaints
- Check, prioritize, update, and close WealthServ tasks
- Review and update policy information on WealthServ and carrier websites
- Verify and order underwriting requirements and communicate application status
- Manage shared mailboxes and coordinate carrier requests
- Process incoming contracts, verify policy details, and create cover memos
- Process policy updates including address, surrender, and ownership changes
- Process AOR requests and verify advisor codes
- Enter premium amounts and create accurate policy entries
- Monitor SLAs for AORs, underwriting decisions, contracts, deliveries, and application reflections
- Manage cheque processing and conversion tasks
Requirements
What you’ll need- University Degree, College Diploma or equivalent working experience preferred
- 2–3 years of experience in the financial services industry, preferably in MGA, dealer, or broker environments
- Negotiation and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to ask probing questions and obtain or provide information with tact, diplomacy, or persuasion
- Proven customer service experience and ability to communicate professionally with all management levels
- Team-player capability and strong interpersonal skills
- Adaptability to ongoing change management
- Ability to identify exceptions and escalate appropriately
- Ability to research problems and contribute to solutions
- Exceptional organizational skills
- Attention to detail
- Knowledge of individual insurance, insurance terminology, and products is an asset
