Key responsibilities & impact

conduct risk assessment and classification in accordance with Manulife's philosophy and standards
communicate and collaborate with sales colleagues and head office to provide competitive decisions
maintain positive relationships with internal and external partners
deliver excellent customer experience by making every interaction meaningful
comply with consumer laws and regulations regarding risk classification, confidentiality, and disclosure
identify and propose solutions to underwriting-related problems and procedures

Requirements

What you’ll need

currently enrolled or very interested in insurance-related courses such as LOMA and/or ALU courses
at least 5 years of experience as underwriter
approval limit of at least $5,000,000 in life insurance and $250,000 in critical illness insurance
awareness of trends and changes in medicine, including knowledge of human anatomy and medical terminology
excellent analytical skills with problem-solving ability
exemplary customer service skills and excellent oral and written communication skills
strong decision-making and critical thinking skills
