Senior Underwriting Consultant, Risk Management

About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Review and audit underwriting decisions, processes and tools
- Review inforce policies for potential rescission assessing new information
- Monitor application and claims trends and respond proactively
- Support legal teams with expert insights on cases in litigation
- Recommend new risk management strategies and controls
- Track and analyze key risk indicators to inform decisions
- Deliver comprehensive reports for senior leaders and external partners
- Deliver educational programs and research to elevate underwriting expertise
- Partner with analytics to integrate cutting-edge insights into risk management practices
- Lead risk management programs and mentor emerging talent
- Partner with cross-functional teams to foster high-performing collaboration
- Build relationships with key stakeholders including reinsurers
Requirements
What you’ll need- 7+ years of underwriting experience with high approval authority
- Deep understanding of individual insurance products and operations
- Advanced skills in MS Office (Excel, PowerBI, PowerPoint)
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Growth mindset and adaptability in a dynamic environment
- Expertise in medical science and its impact on mortality and morbidity
- Bilingualism (English and French) is a strong asset
