About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Acts as the subject matter expert across all alternative investment and private market assets classes (private credit, structured credit, real asset and private equity)
- Engage directly with financial advisors in assigned channel/territory and support existing wholesaler efforts
- Ability to deliver and convey complex investment solutions to advisors in an understandable and relatable manner
- Manages a large territory and works closely with all levels of the sales organization
- Discusses portfolio allocation guidance, suitability, structuring and liquidity considerations for implementation into advisor portfolios
- Partners with key account managers and platform due diligence team to drive product placements
- Works with Training & Development to build an alternatives education platform
- Collaborates with various Investment, Strategy and Marketing teams to build content, collateral, and brand awareness campaigns
- Supports strategic initiatives and projects on behalf of Alternatives Product Team
- Produces expected sales results and activity levels as defined by manager
Requirements
What you’ll need- A minimum of 4-6 years of experience in the alternative investment management industry
- Direct experience in business development or as a specialist working directly with advisors
- Prior experience in private credit, structured credit, real assets and/or private equity
- Knowledge and experience with various investment structures including BDCs, interval funds, tender offer funds, NTRs and private placements
- Experience selling into private wealth channels (wirehouses, private banks, broker-dealers, RIAs)
- Strong knowledge of the operational functions for the private market subscription process including platforms like iCapital, CAIS, +SUBSCRIBE
- Strong business development acumen; relationships with Alternatives stakeholders at key broker-dealer firms a plus
- Exceptional communication skills; ability to effectively articulate complex topics internally and externally
- Highly proficient in the capital markets and positioning alternatives as a portfolio allocation
- Bachelor’s degree, FINRA Series 7 & 66 licenses required, CAIA or CFA preferred
