About the role
- Provide direct support for tactical planning in collaboration with Operations to ensure harvest scheduling, budgeting, and harvest plan execution decision support is timely and accurate.
- Provide and maintain timely, accurate, value-added information in the realms of harvest scheduling, tactical and long term planning, and timber investment analysis for various Timber and Ag business sectors.
- Establish and maintain long term plans for client properties.
- Support the development of regional price curves and other inputs.
- Provide discounted cash flow and other financial analysis to evaluate and support timber management decisions, value-added and environmental service projects (carbon, wind, conservation easement, water, wood supply agreements, etc.).
- Support the business conformance with certification requirements and support management systems that enable the advancement of the forest stewardship commitment.
- Continuously improve business procedures and provide training and support to ensure the effective deployment and use of property data and business systems.
Requirements
- A Bachelor of Science degree in forestry or a related discipline.
- A graduate degree in a forestry discipline or business is highly desirable.
- A knowledge of silviculture, forest mensuration, timberland appraisals, growth and yield models, timber supply and demand models, forestry operations, and forest regulations.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills.
- Possess proficient writing skills to prepare professional reports and management plans and strong verbal communication skills.
- Must be a team player, highly motivated, innovative, and entrepreneurial in nature.
