About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage the functionality and efficiency of groups of computers running on one or more operating systems
- Work side-by-side with the engineer to maintain and deploy VDI thin clients
- Work with SCCM/MECM to ensure patching and security compliance
- Collaborate with the Service Desk to troubleshoot hardware and software issues
- Keep master images and pools updated and secured
- Implement patches, updates, and configuration changes with cybersecurity and IT teams
- Interface with the customer, gather requirements, and deliver solutions
- Troubleshoot VDI issues involving user access, performance, connectivity, and software compatibility
- Monitor system performance and usage to identify bottlenecks or failure points and recommend improvements
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, or equivalent additional experience
- High school diploma and 4 years of additional experience may substitute for the bachelor’s degree
- Associate’s degree and 2 years of additional experience may substitute for the bachelor’s degree
- 5+ years of direct experience supporting VDI environments
- 10+ years of overall IT experience in system administration or related technical roles
- Experience with VMware Horizon, Citrix, or other major VDI solutions
- Strong understanding of Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, and networking fundamentals
- Must have an active Secret clearance
- Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance
- Preferred: Master’s degree or PhD in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field
- Preferred: FSLogix and/or HorizonView Client experience
- Preferred: VMware Certified Professional (VCP), Citrix Certified Associate (CCA-V), or related certification
- Desired: Experience at a DoD Combatant Command or component
- Ability to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time
- Ability to occasionally move inside the office and communicate with co-workers, management, and customers via email, phone, or virtual communication
