About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • 24*7 Incidents Queue, emails & Teams Channel of Transport domain.
  • Ticket creation (manual), resolving, and closing incident record
  • First level of diagnosis of all minor, major and critical incidents.
  • Forward ticket to next level but engineer must ensure that only relevant tickets are forwarded to other functions like L2, OEM or Field Technician
  • Troubleshooting & Resolution of all priority incidents belonging to DWDM, SDH & Submarine elements
  • Follow and adhere to SLAs and KPIs defined for response and resolution time etc.
  • Co-ordinate with L2, OEM and Field Maintenance teams
  • Co-ordinate with internal L1 teams of NOC (IP, FA, Core, RAN)
  • As a part of change management, do pre/post health checks and co-ordinate change management
  • Raise tickets as a part of problem management for recurring faults
  • Rerouting of Traffic to restore outages and perform Testing Configuration changes as per Change requests
  • Evaluate the impact of the alarms

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s in engineering – Electronics/Telecommunications/Computers etc
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in working with Tier 1 TEMs or mobile service providers carrying out responsibilities in network operations out of which minimum one year into NOC environment
  • Should have hands-on operations experience in the following technologies implemented in Mobile & B2B network: SDH / SONET, DWDM / CWDM / OTN / Amplifiers, Submarine Landing Station
  • Should have experience of providing Level 1 fault management support, executing changes in the network
  • Device level experience for the following mentioned network elements in transmission equipment like Huawei, Nokia, ALU, Ericsson, Adva, Fibernet etc.
  • Should have basic understanding of mobile backhaul network on MPLS, Ethernet, ATM, TDM.
  • Have good analytical and technical issue resolution skills.
  • Should have good experience of Alarm Management, Fault Management, Change Management / Configuration Management.
  • Should have user level knowledge of OSS / NMS tools, preferably to have experience on Netcool, Remedy
  • Good communication skills and process orientation
  • Spanish speaking, writing and reading skill must.
