About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage and grow sales throughout the assigned district while meeting or exceeding revenue, profitability, and performance objectives
  • Develop trusted relationships with existing customers through communication, responsive support, and understanding of business needs
  • Identify, pursue, and convert new sales opportunities
  • Lead customer meetings, business reviews, planning sessions, product training, and fleet surveys
  • Develop working knowledge of filtration products and provide hands-on assistance during inventories, product changeovers, and inventory relocations
  • Respond to customer concerns and coordinate with internal partners to resolve issues
  • Monitor market conditions, competitive activity, customer needs, and industry challenges
  • Develop and implement territory sales plans
  • Maintain customer records, sales activity, fleet reporting, business forms, and required documentation in CRM systems
  • Collaborate with sales representatives, product trainers, and internal business partners
  • Travel approximately 30–40% throughout the territory, including daily driving and overnight travel as required

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree or at least five years of relevant sales experience in place of a degree
  • Experience managing customer accounts, developing new business, or supporting an assigned sales territory
  • Ability to meet sales, revenue, profitability, or other measurable business objectives
  • Strong customer relationship-building, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation abilities
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
  • Mechanical aptitude and willingness to provide hands-on customer and product support
  • Ability to deliver product training and communicate technical information
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with a regional sales team
  • Willingness and ability to travel approximately 40–50%, including overnight travel
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license and acceptable driving record
  • Residence in, or willingness to relocate at personal expense to, the Rochester or Buffalo, New York area
  • Preferred: sales experience in automotive aftermarket, heavy-duty, off-road equipment, filtration, or related industry
  • Preferred: Salesforce or comparable CRM experience
  • Preferred: fleet surveys or customer business reviews experience
  • Preferred: inventories, product changeovers, or inventory relocations experience
  • Preferred: knowledge of filtration products or other mechanical and technical product lines
