About the role

  • Identify new sales opportunities and grow the existing customer base through acquisition of new clients and organic growth.
  • Present, promote and sell customs brokerage, consulting and freight forwarding services to existing and prospective customers.
  • Establish, develop and maintain positive business and customer relationships.
  • Reach out to prospective customers through cold calling.
  • Coordinate sales efforts with team members and other departments.
  • Accurately track sales leads, opportunities, current customer interactions and competitor information through SugarCRM.
  • Complete RFP/RFQ requests for existing and potential clients.
  • Work in conjunction with parent company to identify opportunities for both groups.
  • Travel within northern Ontario sales territory for customer facing meetings and tradeshows - overnight travel is required.
  • Achieve agreed upon sales targets on a quarterly & annual basis.
  • Engage in continuous improvement through feedback and professional development.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of identifiable sales experience within the customs brokerage and global logistics markets.
  • Bachelor’s degree and/or college degree or equivalent (preferred)
  • CCS/CTCS Designation through CSCB (preferred)
  • Highly motivated and target driven with proven track record in sales - valid drivers license and reliable vehicle required.
  • Mileage allowance/reimbursement provided.
  • Excellent selling, negotiation and communications skills.
  • Time management, problem solving and organizational skills.
  • Ability to create and deliver presentations tailored to the audience needs.
  • Familiarity with the Challenger Sales methodology.
  • Experience within ITMR4 brokerage software (preferred).
  • Aptitude with SugarCRM and Google platforms.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office products – Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
