About the role
- **Overall purpose and responsibilities of the role:**
- The Content Manager will be the driving force behind the company’s content marketing strategy. This role will wear two hats: a Creator who crafts compelling, high-quality material (blogs, whitepapers, emails), and a Manager who oversees the editorial calendar, ensures technical accuracy, and maximizes the reach of every piece we publish.
- **Duties and Responsibilities:**
- **Content Strategy & Operations**
- - Develop and execute a comprehensive content marketing strategy that drives awareness, engagement, and conference registrations.
- - Manage the master content calendar, acting as the central hub for all content deliverables across the marketing, sales, and events teams.
- - Analyze content performance using web analytics and social metrics to make data-driven adjustments to our strategy and formats.
- - Identify trending AI and data science topics that align with our highly technical target audience's interests.
- **Content Creation & Copywriting**
- - Write, edit, and proofread high-quality content across multiple formats, including blog posts, in-depth articles, whitepapers, and case studies.
- - Craft engaging short-form copy for marketing materials, including email newsletters, website landing pages, and social media platforms (LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook).
- - Conduct deep-dive research into AI trends, gathering accurate information to ensure all content is authoritative, highly engaging, and strictly on-brand.
- - Collaborate with subject matter experts, speakers, and the wider ODSC AI community to source quotes and technical insights.
- **Distribution & SEO**
- - Maximize content ROI by distributing assets across various channels, including social media, email marketing, and third-party content syndication networks.
- - Optimize all web content for SEO, applying best practices for keyword targeting, meta descriptions, and on-page structure to drive organic traffic.
- - Repurpose long-form content (like conference talks or whitepapers) into bite-sized assets for social media and email campaigns.
Requirements
- **Must-have Skills/Qualification:**
- - Experience: 3+ years in content marketing, journalism, or a similar role.
- - Exceptional Writing & Editing: Native or near-native English proficiency with a meticulous eye for grammar, tone, and technical accuracy.
- - Project Management: Strong ability to manage multiple deadlines, stakeholders, and a complex editorial calendar (experience with tools like Asana, Trello, or Jira is a plus).
- - Tech-Savvy & Curious: You don't need to be a data scientist, but you must be deeply curious about Artificial Intelligence and capable of researching and translating complex tech concepts for a savvy audience.
- - Analytical Mindset: Comfortable digging into Google Analytics or social media insights to see what content is actually working.
- **Nice-to-Have**
- - Experience working with generative AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude) to accelerate outlining and research.
- - Experience working in the B2B Tech, SaaS or AI/Data Science industries.
- - Previous experience managing freelance writers or external contributors.
- - Familiarity with WordPress or similar Content Management Systems.
- - Advanced SEO Expertise: Proven experience optimizing content for search engines and working with tools like Ahrefs, SEMrush, or Google Search Console.
